RVL-4640 - 1/48 SH60B Seahawk Helicopter
The Sikorsky SH-60B Seahawk belongs to one of the most successful series of helicopters in the world, the Sikorsky S-70 with the military designation H-60. The machines in this series are distinguished by their almost unlimited applications that meet almost the whole spectrum of performance requirements of all branches of the armed services. The successes to date of this undisputably best and most universal of military helicopters have made the new versions of equal interest to the US Navy and US Marines. The SH-60B Seahawk has been in use since 1983. Under the fuselage the helicopter carries a radar pod with a Texas Instruments AN/APS 0124 search radar and a towed array for detecting submarines. For this type of mission the SH-60B can be armed with up to three type Mk.46 torpedoes. A particular external feature of the SH-60B is the dunking device for the sonobuoys used in acoustic underwater searches.
